Tragedy proves unity will prevail.
Sisters and Brothers,
As the horrific aftermath of Boston events unfold, we become more aware of the need to tell our loved ones, friends, family, co-workers, that we care for them and to have reassurance that we ourselves will be ok. A comforting quote from Patton Oswalt has been circulating social media this afternoon, and it includes the following statement that I found to be very moving, and very true,
“…You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out…. the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago. So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”
Please remember that if you need any assistance during this trying time, we are here to help. We continue to stay in contact directly with the company ensuring our members are ok. Please monitor your schedule if your pairing consists of a Boston layover for any last minute accommodation changes. The families affected and this great city are in our thoughts and prayers as we take this on as the American family
