AFA Disaster Relief

The Disaster Relief Fund is open to all members who have a primary residence in a zone declared a Disaster Area by the President of the U.S.  Puerto Rico had originally been declared a federal disaster area, and now seven counties in North carolina have been added to the list. (Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico, and Tyrrell)

We know that disasters can change lives in so many ways. While we can’t stop destructive events like Hurricane Irene from happening, we can, as a Union, assist you in your recovery effort. AFA established a disaster fund after September 11th to aid our members who were placed in harms way. AFA members whose primary residence is in a federally-declared disaster area, and who have suffered financial loss and/or dislocation, are eligible for $200.00 from the AFA-CWA Disaster Relief Fund. It is a gift made possible by the generosity of you fellow union sisters and brothers with AFA.
