Re:     Notice of Intent to Seek Contractual Changes

Dear Ms. Shook and Mr. Davidowitch:

We are pleased with our mutual success earlier this year in agreeing to a new collective bargaining agreement for s-UA Flight Attendants. It is our goal to build on that achievement by negotiating with representatives of the s-UA, s-CO and s-CMI Flight Attendants and concluding a joint collective bargaining agreement that establishes terms and conditions of employment for a single, integrated Flight Attendant work group at United Airlines.

To this end and pursuant to Section 35.B. of the 2012-2016 s-UA/AFA Flight Attendant Agreement (“Agreement”) and provisions in the Continental and Continental Micronesia Flight Attendant Agreements, we intend to negotiate for changes to the status quo s-UA/AFA Agreement. We are prepared to commence these joint negotiations no later than 120 days from this notice, and earlier if the parties mutually agree.

We look forward to the opportunity to get to work on this important task.

Sincerely,

P. Douglas McKeen
Senior Vice President – Labor Relations
