The Power of the Pin
Stop by your local’s union desk and pick up your union pin. Wearing your pin shows your support and solidarity for the nine Flight Attendant negotiators that make up our JNC while they represent your interests and negotiate the leading industry contract for the membership.
Additional Aircraft Orders
Additional aircraft orders on record show: 65 orders total for the 787, including the six (6) that we currently have in our fleet. 787-10 Delivery will take place in 2018. The total Airbus A350 order will be 35. We can expect 150 new narrow-body aircraft, including the 737-900ER and 737 MAX series. Also, 70 Embraer aircraft (76-seat), to be operated by our United Express regional partners.
Layover Safety Tips
Always remember that being aware of your surroundings and those around you should extend to your layover time as well. Practicing situational awareness can keep you and your flying partners safe. Never mention the name of your layover hotel, or discuss layover activities, in front of passengers on the aircraft or while in the terminal.
MEC Officers and Committee Chairs Start 3-Year Term July 1st
It is with great honor that our MEC Officers and Committee Chairs begin a new term of service for the Membership. We look forward to the future with enthusiasm and are proud to stand in solidarity with our Union Brothers and Sisters.
Pay Your Dues Up Front and SAVE 10%!
The deadline for paying your dues in full for the next 12 months is fast approaching. If you pay the full amount for your dues by July 1, 2013, you will save a total of 10% off the total cost of your dues. By paying all of your dues, your total cost for the year will be $518.40. You can pay your dues on-line by visiting calafa.org—>Dues—->Pay Dues On Line OR by Contacting Membership Services at 1-800-424-2401 ext 707. Membership Services is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm EST, and if you call during business hours and have to leave a message, they guarantee to return your call the same day. If you are payroll deducting your dues, they can help process the paperwork to stop your dues money from being automatically deducted from your check. When paying your dues on-line without contacting Membership Services, make sure you also fill out the Dues Question form, found under the Services—->Dues—->Dues Question tab on calafa.org to halt the automatic deduction of dues from your paycheck. Again, should you have any dues questions, contact Membership Services.
That is all for now, fly safe.
