New Hire Buddy Program
The New Hire Buddy Program is off to a great start! If you’re interested in helping out one of our newest Flight Attendants, then the Buddy Program is a great way to get involved. You can help answer their questions and concerns, and help them settle in to their new careers. Remember wondering, “How do I bid? Where is that employee parking lot? How do I read my pairing? How do I find a crash pad?” The purpose of this program is to provide new hires with someone to answer these questions. The buddy program is only a three month commitment, and you are welcome to have up to 2 buddies at a time. We don’t expect you to know absolutely everything, but who better than you to point a new hire in the right direction? We also realize that our schedules can be hectic at times. You’re not expected to be available to your New Buddy around the clock. but, when you do find time to return a phone call or reply to an e-mail, you’ll be amazed by how much it can help. If you have the time to help out a new employee, you can sign up at your local council union desk or by contacting your local committee representatives in your base. 1-855-4CALAFA

Time Change Sunday, November 6, 2011
Flight Attendants are reminded that Daylight Savings Time will end Sunday, November 6, at 0200 hours. Please remember to set your watch back one hour before going to bed Saturday night and ensure that all members of your crew are reminded of the change.
- These states (Arizona, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and Hawaii) do not recognize Daylight Saving Time and stay on Standard Time year round.
- Certain counties in Indiana do not observe Daylight Savings Time; however, crews in Indianapolis will need to make the time change.
